Maybe you remember the day you heard the name "Feminists for Life." Perhaps you felt relief because you weren't alone anymore in your pro-woman pro-life beliefs. Or maybe you thought there was no way these ideas went together, but as you found out more you said to yourself this makes sense.

I caught the wave of feminism in college, but felt distant when abortion was included. The "Herstory" articles in The American Feminist assure me that my place as a pro-life feminist is neither new nor solitary.

I was always a feminist and always pro-life. I knew immediately that this is what I was supposed to do, and that everything in my life and my career had been preparing me for this. And I knew I was home.

I love that FFL sponsors programs and education so pregnant women don't have to sacrifice a child or education and dreams. With resources and support, a woman can choose both.

This week's celebration of Women's History Month is all about solidarity with others in our movement. Our shared experiences and unique stories are best told by people like you.

So take a moment out of your day to read what FFL members are saying. And then if you'd like, share your thoughts on your Facebook page during this next week, place a link to FFL's Facebook page on your own, and encourage your friends to join our email list.

FFL is a strong, passionate advocate for women and children in ways that are creative, constructive, and respectful. We are bridge builders.

Most important, please become a member during our Women's History Month campaign. If it's been a while and your membership is due, we need you to renew.

And if you become a monthly donor, your membership is now included! Anyone who chooses to donate $5 or more monthly, or $15 or more quarterly, to Feminists for Life will also become a member of FFL. This includes monthly and quarterly donations given through Electronic Fund Transfer and FFL's secure website. Monthly and quarterly donors provide essential support to our ongoing mission.

Protection of life can best be accomplished when both mother and child are cherished, supported, and served. Your approach avoids the traps of ideological extremism and puts service to real people with real needs above political agendas and divisiveness.

And be sure to check out our upcoming events in Boston, Washington, Austin, Omaha, Chapel Hill, and Cedar Falls! Please come, if you are nearby, and invite your friends and family to attend.

Alongside the original feminists who fought to give women a voice, guard children with sound labor laws, secure the abolition of slavery and protect the unborn child, women today increasingly stand in solidarity with FFL to defend ALL those whose voice is not heard.

Take Action!

• Spread the word by sharing Lisa Bellecci-st. romain's "Why I Am a Feminist for Life," together with your own story, on Facebook, your website, your blog, Twitter, etc.
• # Tweet your favorite quotes from this series (#MarchForthFFL), like Jaclyn Orozco's "[M]y place as a pro-life feminist is neither new nor solitary."
• Share a link to Serrin's "Pro-Woman Answers to Pro-Choice Questions" with your family and friends.
• Download, print, and post FFL's free "Another Anti-Choice Fanatic: Susan B. Anthony" ad on bulletin boards in community centers, places of worship, grocery stores, restaurants, shops, libraries, dorms, and student centers. (When posting ads, always ask permission and follow any posting guidelines, regulations, or ordinances.)
• Download and print your favorite of FFL's free iron-on decals and use it to make a reusable tote for your lunch, the library, the grocery store, and other shopping. The same designs can also be used to make t-shirts, aprons, and many other items.
• Order FFL's NEW "Voices of our Feminist Foremothers" brochures, featuring Susan B. Anthony and other feminist foremothers, to distribute for Women's History Month in March. (Don't forget to wear your t-shirts or carry the brochures in your new bag!)
• Spread the word by sharing Anna Julia Cooper's story on Facebook, your website, your blog, Twitter, etc.
• Order or bake a cake for Susan B. Anthony's 191st birthday on February 15th. (Great for classrooms, dorm celebrations, or just for you.) You may choose to skip the 191 candles!
• Plan a trip--either for February 15th or the future--to the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum in Adams, Massachusetts.
• Write an op-ed for publication in a newspaper, magazine, journal, newsletter, or bulletin, or post it on your own blog or Facebook page. Use the resources in the feminist history section of FFL's website and be sure to link to www.feministsforlife.org in your article. (You help make FFL's website one of the most visited in the world!)
